Data processing
All data is treated confidentially and those responsible for the reporting platform handle all information received with care. After receipt, the complaints are forwarded to the responsible institutions within the OVGU, which then process them. The information collected is not passed on to third parties outside the university.
All input fields are optional. In order to be able to act, it is nevertheless necessary to name the persons, groups and areas described. It is also useful to enter your own contact details in order to receive information about the process and the result.
Purpose of the data processing
With the help of this reporting platform, members of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg should be able to actively participate in order to make our university more equal opportunities and to receive advice, help and support quickly and easily. The two forms offer the opportunity to express suggestions, ideas, praise or criticism about studying and teaching or to obtain advice and/or help in the event of discrimination, disadvantage, violence or harassment.
In addition, the presentation of an internal report is planned in order to initiate structural changes with regard to disadvantage. It will not be possible to draw conclusions about individuals.

Charter of diversity
By signing the Diversity Charter, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has committed itself to promoting, using and recognising diversity and appreciation as an opportunity.
General Equal Treatment Act
With the awareness portal, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg complies with the right of complaint, which is regulated in Article 13 of the AGG.
The complaint is not bound to a form or deadline. You can submit your complaint via the contact form. There is an exception if you want to make use of the right to compensation or damages according to AGG Article 15 paragraph 1 and 2. Here, the written form and a deadline of two months must be observed.
When making use of the right of complaint, you and all witnesses involved are protected against possible discrimination by the prohibition of discrimination under Article 16 of the AGG.
Higher education act of the state of Saxony-Anhalt
In addition to employees, students are also entitled to use this contact point on the basis of HSG LSA Article 3 Paragraph 3 and 4, according to which discrimination-free study and professional or academic activity must be ensured. In addition, efforts must be made to reduce discrimination and to achieve gender equality.
Violence, threats or sexual harassment can also lead to exmatriculation in accordance with HSG LSA Article 30.
The processing of sensitive personal data
By filling in the form, there is a risk of collecting sensitive personal data that may allow conclusions to be drawn about individuals or groups, so-called special categories under Article 9(1) of the GDPR. This is the case when information is provided on characteristics worthy of protection and, where applicable, a combination thereof in the course of describing discrimination or disadvantage (age, ethnic origin & nationality, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion & belief and social origin).
Rights for affected persons
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have a right to:
- information about your processed personal data (DS-GVO Article 15)
- correction of your personal data (GDPR Article 16)
- erasure (GDPR Article 17)
- restriction of processing (GDPR Article 18)
- objection to processing (GDPR Article 21)
- withdrawal of your consent (GDPR Article 7(3))

Storage of the data
Your collected data will be deleted after a possible complaint procedure has been completed, the data is no longer necessary for the collection of evidence and its processing in the annual report has been completed.
