In accordance with §13 of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has set up a complaints office where those affected can complain if they feel discriminated against on the basis of one of the following characteristics:

• racial reasons/ ethnic origin
• gender
• religion/belief
• disability
• age
• sexual identity

The complaints office

• examination of discrimination cases with duty of confidentiality (impartial with consideration of the interests of the complainants and the accused)
• initiation of complaints procedure
• convening of Commission for Employees and Committee for Students
• measures to remedy the situation and protect those affected
• accompanying those affected in the complaints process
• information and documentation
